Episode 5: Bringing Out the Big Guns! This episode marked two big "firsts" in Tim’s storytelling: a two part episode and a full sheet "panel." While creating this episode, Tim discovered that he couldn’t put all of the story he wanted plus an adequate "punch line" all on one sheet, so he made a 2-part episode with the "big bang" as a full sheet spread on page two. It also marked the first time he referred to the patient by name (Nana Haldane).
Tim continued with the jokes (Let’s let ‘er rip! Like your shirt?). He used a cartoon character’s line (Yosemite Sam) with "This’ll learn ya, varmints!" But at the same time, he also continued to carry the actual events through the story. Nana needed massive chemotherapy and it did, indeed, last 72 hours. The doctor had referred to this therapy as "bringing out the big guns." Hence, Tim created the big guns for Chemo© to use.
