Special Project - Extraordinary Restorations.....CALL
  • Severely damaged, brittle and crumbly negatives had to be handled with extreme care
  • Original scans required several passes to obtain acceptable starting images
  • Severe water spotting and discoloration
  • Severe wrinkles and distortions
  • Major damage to faces
  • Major distortion to detailed objects

This project restored images of the signing of the Berlin Treaty in September 1938.  This Treaty gave Czechoslovakia to Hitler.  The image on the left is Benito Mussolini signing the accord.

The negatives were badly burned by a broken steam pipe and had been deemed unsalvageable by a major photographic company.  You can see the damage to the negative in the image above.  The repairs were covered by a major insurance company.

We hope you never experience such problems, but if you do, you can come to Grand Memories!
